The premise is to rescue the traditional values of Arequipa’s vernacular architecture, through the application of languages and representative forms of contemporary times but incorporating typological elements such as the patio, the “zaguán”, the gallery of columns, mass versus the void, liberation on the first plan.
The use of characteristic materials of the city applied to contemporary technologies, allowed innovation in the use of the conventional ashlar format, as a skin for the different faces of the building. This allows an effect of light and shadow that generates the constant change of the reading of the building’s facades at different times of the day.
