The intervention proposal seeks to rehabilitate, reactivate and repower the space of the plaza on two scales: neighborhood and institutional.

It is proposed to differentiate the materiality between the surface of the public space at the pedestrian level and the elevated surface represented by the “urban podium”. To cover the pedestrian surfaces and the streets, the use of natural stone and boulders has been chosen. Both subjects fulfill the objective of slowing down the speed of the cars that pass through the area and also collaborate in recovering the symbolic character that the colonial squares of old Lima had. On the other hand, the raised plane presents a less fragmented and smoother materiality, which allows it to be used as a bench, sports court, water mirror, etc.
